CHRIS POLAND: 'Return to Metalopolis – Live' Audio Sample Available
September 29, 2006A tune and the art from the forthcoming Chris Poland (ex-MEGADETH) "Return to Metalopolis - Live" CD has been posted on the OHM: MySpace page. The art for the disc (done by artist Skip Snyder) can also be found on the opening page of www.chrispoland.com.
The title song posted was recorded live in 1991 in Phoenix, AZ on the short-lived "Return to Metalopolis" tour, featuring Chris Poland on guitar, Mark Poland on drums, and David Randi on bass. It is the only known recording from the tour. This is the lineup that later progressed into the band DAMN THE MACHINE, who released its self-titled effort on A&M records in 1993.
"Return to Metalopolis - Live" is scheduled for release in 2007 on Lion Music. The disc will feature unreleased studio and live tracks from this era of Chris' career as well as video footage.
Poland's OHM: project is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to "Amino Acid Flashback". Kofi Baker (who played on OHM:'s last two records) and Joel Taylor (ALLAN HOLDSWORTH, FRANK GAMBALE, also toured with OHM: earlier this year) will be sharing drum duties on this record.
"Amino Acid Flashback" was released by Blacknote Records in October 2005.
